As 2023 comes to an end, Myers & Co Solicitors are excited to announce the appointment of Tim Newsome as the firm’s new Managing Director.
Tim, who is an experienced dispute resolution solicitor, will be taking on the role of Managing Director in the new year following the retirement of Helen and Stephen Myers.
Tim is a committed and knowledgeable lawyer who puts his clients’ interests first. He has a pragmatic, commercial approach to the resolution of disputes. His experience in this field, combined with his years of service at Myers & Co make him the perfect fit for the role as Managing Director.
Stephen believed that Tim was the best man for the job and trusts the firm will only grow stronger. He said: “I’m very pleased that it’s been an in-house appointment of one of the three existing Directors.
“I think Tim was naturally the one that suited the role best. It will keep some continuity as Tim has been with us for the best part of 17 years, and it will be really good for the firm going forward.”
Power couple Stephen and Helen Myers had been at the helm of the law firm since 2005, when they bought the practice off Heatons Solicitors. Stephen has been with the firm since 1981, when he joined as an office junior. He qualified as a Solicitor in 1995 and then became a partner of the firm just a couple of years later.
Since qualifying he has gained over 30 years of experience in advising clients on legal matters. His expertise helped Myers & Co to grow into an established legal firm with an enviable reputation.
The firm was sold in 2022 to the MAPD Group anticipating Stephen and Helen’s retirement. Speaking of handing the reigns over to MAPD, Stephen said: “We believe that we sold to the right people. The firm is sure to go from strength to strength.”
All of us at Myers & Co wish Stephen and Helen the very best as they move into this exciting next phase of their lives together. It has been an honour to work with them over the years and we’re grateful to have been able to learn so much from them. We now look forward to Myers & Co’s next chapter with Tim Newsome leading the way as Managing Director.
